One of the challenges of crock-tober…
I suddenly realize how much I love, crave, want, can’t get enough,
grilled food…ha ha!
So, when that happened, I decided to branch into desserts…
And, boy, am I glad I did with this one!
- 1 loaf of french bread, cut in to cubes
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup toffee bits
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup coffee
- 1 cup half and half
- 1/2 cup milk
- vanilla ice cream (it just needs vanilla ice cream!)
Brush olive oil around the inside of the crock. Dump bread crumbs in crock… yes, you have to dump… it makes the recipe work! 🙂 Sprinkle chocolate chips, toffee bits and pecans over the top of the bread. Mix together the sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, coffee, milk and half and half and stir until well blended. Pour over the bread… mix the whole mess together until most of the liquid has been absorbed. Cook on low for 3-4 hours. Take a deep breath as you remove the lid – those calories don’t count! 🙂 Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
