My fellow princess Molly and I are just back from a fantastic runcation to Walt Disney World, where I introduced her to one of the best snacks on earth — the Dole Whip! I believe I had four helpings of this frozen pineapple treat in a three-day period, usually in a pineapple juice float. My one regret of the trip was not trying a rum-added version currently sold in Animal Kingdom.
Considering I live about 600 miles away from the Magic Kingdom, I decided to make a similar treat to enjoy at home. There are several frozen dessert copycat Dole Whip recipes out there — this is more a smoothie inspired by the pineapple goodness. My boys enjoy this as an after-school snack, and I often have this for breakfast with a scoop of vanilla protein powder. Super easy!
1 cup almond milk (or dairy of your choice)
1 cup frozen pineapple (or fresh)
Honey to taste (1/2 to 1 tsp)
That’s it — blend it in your Magic Bullet or blender and enjoy!
